BACKGROUND

The current patient identification bands are not designed for the pediatric world. With kids fidgeting, biting, and having sensory issues, the level of compliance is not as high as needed to maintain CCHMC’s safety standards.

PROCESS

  • Conducted multiple observation sessions across  different units of the hospital, observing product, process, and interaction.

  • Sketched and prototyped 100+ solutions, covering low tech and high tech solutions, focusing on innovative, future forward solutions.

  • Co-created and further validated final directions by facilitating workshops for providers to gather input.
