BACKGROUND

The Hoxworth Blood Center is an internationally recognized leader in transfusion medicine. The environment was designed as a flexible space that balances privacy for those in need of respite with areas for collaboration, education, and community engagement.

PROCESS

  • Conducted primary research through observation and interviews with employees and donors to define uses for space and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Ideated and visualized over 20 different concepts, created 3D renders and visualizations, and acted as creative strategist to define environmental identity.

  • Strategized short-term and long-term changes and developed material boards, furniture selections, and established floor plans for further development.
